Children who have been absent or have to leave school early at any time must provide written explanation from parents or guardians. Regular attendance at school is of vital importance to the progress and happiness of a child in school. Parents are encouraged to ensure that their children are absent only for very serious reasons. Children who are absent for 20 days or more, must be reported by law to Tusla, the child and family agency. Children who are persistently late for school will also be reported to Tusla child and family agency.
