On Thursday, June 22nd our colleague Ms. Shivaun O'Connor retired. We wish Shivaun well in her retirement. Shivaun helped to raise our first Amber flag

On Monday, June 19th we bid a fond farewell to our 6th Class. We wish them the best of luck in post primary school.

We have been enjoying the warm weather at school. the girls and boys even got a chance to enjoy an icecream!

Our Junior and Senior Infants visited the Old Rectory, Croom for their school tour. They had great fun baking, meeting all the animals and playing games.

1st to 6th class recently went on their school tour to 'Just For Fun' school tours in Mary Immaculate College and then were treated to a McDonalds.

Junior Infants have been learning about money in maths so set up their own shop and used real money to buy themselves a treat.

Our 5th Class went on an Ecology trip around Askeaton recently to learn about our locality.

We wish to congratulate 1st class, winners in the RSA Seatbelt sherrif competition and 2nd class, runners up in the Hi Glo Silver competition. Well done.

We wish to congratulate the girls and boys who won their schools 9-a-side hurling final against Tournafulla. Well done to all

Congratulations to the girls and boys of 2nd Class who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 14th. Fr. Seán presented certificates to all.

On Friday, June 2nd Foynes Fire Brigade paid a visit to our school to educate the girls and boys about fire safety.

Our Green school committee carried out a survey regarding our school's commitment to a cleaner environment and waste reduction with very positive results.

6th class were presented with Certificates of Participation for taking part in the Our World Irish Aid Awards 22/23 and are invited to the National Awards

6th class are beginning to look forward to their move to post primary school and recently received their class of 2023 hoodies

Junior Infants enjoyed playing doctors. They were inspired by Nurse Bernie's visit to check hearing and sight so lots of surgeries were performed!

Junior Infants were busy making plans for lunch by planting some cress seeds. They painted some recycled pots before planting the cress seeds.

Garda Eoin Barrett paid a return visit to our school on Wednesday, May 18th to speak to the girls and boys about and cycling safely on our roads

Senior Infants enjoyed writing stories about Our Lady's month of May and did some lovely colouring.

As part of Wellbeing Week 6th class held a bake sale in aid if Pieta House. We were delighted to hand over a check for €1146.76 to Pieta House. Well Done

The children of Junior Infants were delighted with their experiment of the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly

Garda Barrett paid a visit to 3rd to 6th class to discuss road safety. They then went on a cycling tour of Askeaton. Pupils can now cycle to school.

Our Wellbeing concluded with our Feel Good Friday. We had our 'Drop Everything and Dance', Easter Egg hunt and finally our poster winners were announced.

As part of our Wellbeing Week a bake sale and ice cream stall was organised by 6th class with proceeds going to Pieta House.

As part of Wellbeing week Thankful Tuesday, the children enjoyed fruit skewers and smoothies. A soccer tournament for 5th and 6th class also took place

As part of Wellbeing week we had yoga with Bríd for all classes on 'Mindful Monday'. 5th and 6th classes made some lovely relaxation bottles

For Amber flag Wellbeing Week, Junior Infants went to the playground as part of 'Spread a smile while walking a mile'

3rd and 4th class were delighted to experience the Raincloud in a glass experiment which demonstrates how evaportion,condensation and precipitation works.

Our 1st class girls and boys enjoy their art class and were delighted to make something special for Mother's Day

1st-6th class had their final swim lesson in Coral Leisure Askeaton before closing on March 16th. We wish them the best and hopefully will reopen soon

Our Senior Infants were very busy with artwork for St. Patrick's Day and enjoyed making a special gift for Mother's Day.

1st Class paid a visit to the Post Office to learn all about writing and posting letters.

We wish to congratulate Rayhan in 2nd class who has spent the last 2 weeks writing his own book on his favourite character Puss in Boots. Well done Rayhan

3rd and 4th class conducted the pencil in the bag experiment which shows what polymers do to a plastic bag when a hole is punched in it.All went home dry!

Our 3rd and 4th class constructed some fabulous 3D buildings as part of their maths class

Shrove Tuesday was celebrated on Tuesday, February 21st. The girls and boys helped to make pancakes and really enjoyed eating them!

We wish to bid a fond farewell to our postman Larry who retired today. Best wishes to Larry and Maureen.

We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday, March 2nd. The children came to school dressed up as their favourite character and had a great day

All classes have been enjoying swimming lessons in our local pool and are lucky to have a lovely facility in our town.

As part of Art class Matthew, Richard and Danny with the help of Rachel and Ms. O'Hara designed and constructed a puppet theatre. Well done boys.

Senior Infants enjoyed learning about pancakes and helped Mrs O'Connor make the pancake mix and then had a little pancake picnic!

The Spring Chicks have finally arrived in Senior Infants!

We are taking part in the Amber Flag initiative which involves creating a safe,positive and healthy attitude towards our mental health and well-being.

Our Green School Flag Committee experimented on biodegradability to check if certain items like plastic, a teabag, a can etc are biodegradable.

1st Class celebrated Safer Internet day by making posters for the school giving advice on how to stay safe online.

As part of Science week Senior Infants had great fun learning about magnets. They tested items in the classroom for magnetic properties.

1st class girls and boys enjoy working with lego blocks and also loved using plenty of colour for their rainbow art and colour wheels

We celebrated St. Bridget's Day in our school on Wednesday, February 1st. The girls and boys enjoyed making lovely St. Bridget's Day crosses.

The annual CSDCU quiz took place on Saturday, January 28th in Salesian College Pallaskenry. Well done to our U11 and U13 teams who took part on the day.

Senior Infants love art time and recently made polar bears and also enjoyed giving their name some wonderful colour!

We were delighted to receive a visit from some of the Ballysteen U21 county champions 2023. Some of this team are past pupils of our school. Well done!

On Monday,December 19th 2nd Class paid a visit to Abbot Close Nursing Home and performed their Nativity play and delivered Christmas cards to the residents

As part of Anti-bullying week, 1st class girls and boys were taught how to reach out and be nice to each other.

For science week 6th class created a gas powered bottle boat using vinegar and baking soda.

As part of Science week, 2nd class did an experiment with M&Ms and also discovered how to make lava lamps.

As part of Anti-Bullying week our pupils wore odd socks to school as an opportunity to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and uniqueness

3rd class enjoyed their 3D shape maths lesson and even got a chance to construct their own 3D shapes

We wish to thank everyone who contributed to the Team Hope Shoebox appeal. A total of 71 boxes were dropped to the school.

All pupils enjoyed the Halloween celebrations in the school. Our non uniform day was in aid of the Cliona Foundation. We wish to thank all who contributed.
